Native of Longview TX, Casey founded the nonprofit known as Starr Avenue Co in 2016, an organization which celebrates harmonious participation in the art. Casey holds 20 years of training as a performance percussionist for numerous rhythm instruments. He also has training as a sound engineer from Dallas Sound Lab. The program runs in small groups of 8 to 10 children, with five engaging sessions conducted within an hour to an hour and a half. These sessions are designed not only to explore rhythm and music but also to stimulate brain activity and enhance executive functioning skills.

This film wasn’t just entertainment; it was a revelation. At the time, I was living in the small town of Liberty City, Texas, known locally as Sabine. I was part of a humble percussion section of three, dreaming of being on a grand Drumline—a whole different world, a different beast altogether.
