For the Moms of Young Men — Let’s Talk About Mentorship Before the Fall Semester Starts
Moms, Before the world asks him to lead, let’s give him a place to learn how.
Dear Mama,
If you’re reading this, I already know one thing about you:
You care deeply about your son — not just who he is today, but who he’s becoming.
You’ve been there through it all — the scraped knees, the awkward transitions, the late-night homework marathons, the big wins, and the private disappointments he didn’t always know how to express. You’ve celebrated him. You’ve prayed for him. You’ve questioned yourself. You’ve stood strong — even when it felt like no one saw you doing it.
And now, here you are… watching him step into the threshold of something new.
Maybe he’s heading into his freshman year of high school, or his final semester of college.
Maybe he’s stuck somewhere in between — living under your roof, yet carrying questions way bigger than his years.
Or maybe he’s the quiet type — internal, independent, not one to ask for help — but you know, deep down, that this next chapter is going to stretch him.
I want to talk about this moment — the in-between space.
The season of transition.
The summer before the fall.
This is where so many young men start to slip — not because they’re failing, but because they’re forming.
This is where habits get hardwired.
Where beliefs about themselves become internalized.
Where the future starts to take shape — silently, subtly, and sometimes without guidance.
And Mama, that’s the part that keeps me up at night — knowing how many brilliant, creative, sensitive, powerful young men are walking through life under-mentored and overwhelmed.
They’re told to “man up,” but no one gives them a blueprint.
They’re praised when they push through, but not always asked what they’re pushing against.
They’re expected to handle pressure, plan their future, and protect their emotions — all at once — without the space to even process who they are when the world isn’t watching.
And that’s why I created the Crowned & Called End-of-Summer Mentorship Series —
a 5-session journey into identity, leadership, emotional wellness, and purpose, designed for young men ages 14–22.
But this isn’t just a program.
It’s a safe container — one rooted in honor, brotherhood, accountability, and truth.
Because I believe your son doesn’t need someone else’s voice telling him what he’s not.
He needs a space where he can rediscover who he already is.
🟣 Here’s what we’ll explore together:
1. Emotional Regulation & Resilience
How to stay grounded in high-stress environments, respond instead of react, and develop emotional maturity without shame.
2. Identity & Purpose
Not just “What do I want to do?” but “Who am I when no one’s looking?” and “How do I show up in the world with meaning?”
3. Mental Health Awareness
Tools to navigate anxiety, loneliness, shame, social comparison, and digital overwhelm — especially for those who’ve learned to suppress rather than express.
4. Leadership from Within
Understanding leadership not as control, but as alignment — making decisions rooted in values, integrity, and empathy.
5. Daily Habits & Momentum
Structuring time, managing distractions, building confidence through small wins, and anchoring into self-discipline without burnout.
🟣 Why this matters now more than ever
We live in a culture that tells young men to be confident — but rewards silence when they’re hurting.
A world that teaches hustle, but not healing.
We tell them to be successful, but not necessarily how to be whole.
That’s why mentorship matters.
Not because your son is lost — but because even the best of us need a compass when the terrain gets unfamiliar.
And if I may be honest…
I built this program because I was that young man.
Talented. Creative. Filled with potential.
But unsure of what to do with it all.
I was eager to lead, but battling internal pressure I didn’t know how to name.
I needed voices around me to tell me it was okay to not have it all figured out — and even more, to show me how to take the next right step.
This isn’t just professional for me. It’s deeply personal.
🟣 A word for you, Mama:
You’ve done an incredible job.
You’ve planted seeds of love, discipline, and courage in your son — and they matter.
Now, in this season, you don’t have to do it alone.
Let me come alongside you — not to replace your voice, but to reinforce it.
Let me be another set of eyes to see him.
Another heart to hold space for him.
Another voice to echo what you’ve been saying in a different tone — one he can hear as he steps into adulthood.
